Exploring the Ancient Wonders of Teotihuacan with the Cape Gazette
June 25, 2025
Steve Crawford and Judy Impell traveled to Mexico City over the Thanksgiving holiday to visit Impell's daughter and son-in-law. During their trip, they explored the pyramids at Teotihuacan, located about an hour northeast of the city. The ancient site, covering 8 square miles, remains shrouded in mystery regarding its builders. The Pyramid of the Sun, constructed around 100 CE, stands 246 feet tall with a base measuring 738 feet on each side. At the end of the Avenue of the Dead—a 130-foot-wide, 1.5-mile-long thoroughfare—sits the slightly smaller Pyramid of the Moon. Teotihuacan’s grandeur makes it a remarkable destination to catch up on the latest news from the Cape Gazette.
