Family Promise of Southern Delaware announced that it has reached a funding milestone thanks to the Lewes Presbyterian Church.
A generous donation from the church now allows the chapter to begin the hiring process for an executive director. That search will be followed up by advertising for a case manager.
Until now, with many donations from the community and from various grants, Family Promise of Southern Delaware has been relying on partners to help identify families in need of housing assistance. With this specific donation from Lewes Presbyterian, the group will be able to broaden its range of programs.
Family Promise of Southern Delaware has been focusing on prevention, providing aid to families on the verge of eviction or utility cutoff. An executive director will help expand services to sheltering and rapid rehousing as the result of developing relationships with local landlords and other agencies.
