Famous floral designer to speak at Lewes in Bloom meeting Feb. 9
Lewes in Bloom announced the speaker for its February general meeting will be Ken Norman, AIFD, PFCI. Norman is a third-generation floral designer. He recently relocated to Lewes to pursue his dream of running his own design studio. Everyone is invited to attend the meeting set for 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Cadbury.
A lecturer, teacher, designer and judge, Norman has presented his trademark designs to garden clubs and civic groups as well as instructing extensive hands-on workshops with adult community learning centers. He is also a respected instructor at the prestigious New York Botanical Garden and the Mount Cuba Center in Hockessin.
Working with international designers and attending the industry’s leading conferences keeps Norman abreast of industry trends. He has participated in the world-renowned Philadelphia Flower Show both as a featured designer and as exhibit chairman for AIFD.
For the past several years he has been a winning contestant and demonstrator at the flower show’s Designer Studio. His work has been published in several bridal magazines and the blog Style Me Pretty. Norman has won the Best Ceremony and Best Reception categories in Florists’ Review Picture Perfect Wedding contest.
Members and nonmembers are invited to attend.
Lewes in Bloom is a volunteer organization of more than 150 members, who in 2015 spent hundreds of hours planting thousands of bulbs and plants throughout the city. It promotes the beautification and maintenance of historic Lewes and the community at large. It is dedicated to helping Lewes boost its attractiveness through a variety of efforts including historical preservation, environmental awareness, a children’s garden, Art in Bloom, floral displays and more.
