Fire officials: Residents should help clear hydrants

Officials with Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company are asking residents to help locate fire hydrants by shoveling them out. Many hydrants are buried following the Jan. 29 blizzard. 

In the event of a fire, responders may be delayed by having to locate and unbury hydrants. Since residents often know where the hydrants are located near their homes, officials are asking the community to find and clear them now, if it can be done safely.
