Fort Miles Museum to host Veterans Day open house Nov. 10

Fort Miles Museum will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10. Attendees may take self-guided tours. Docents will be on hand to discuss the museum’s exhibits and World War II operations at Fort Miles. Tour admission fee is $5. Veterans and active military personnel as well as their families will receive free tour admission.

A silent auction of Fort Miles-related prints and original sketches will be held at the Fort Miles art gallery. Featured will be works by Paul Rendel, who is internationally recognized for his paintings of U.S. Air Force and other military aircraft. Works by Delaware artists Steve Burke and Teresa Rodriguez will also be highlighted. In addition to the prints and sketches to be auctioned, works by the above artists and Howard Schroeder prints will be available for purchase and discounted by 20 percent.

The museum gift shop will be open with all merchandise offered at a 20 percent discount to veterans and active military personnel.
