Fourth Street Forest worthy of preservation

May 17, 2024

I am writing to demonstrate my support for the alliance working to preserve the Fourth Street Forest, the last open space in our beautiful little city by the bay.

The forest has become a refuge for those of us who love Lewes and respect its history. As development occurs all around us, the forest is a reminder of what Lewes was and also provides a peek into Lewes’ amazing future.

It would be wrong to equate the work of the alliance with any sort of anti-development movement. To the contrary, the alliance is strong in favor of development that respects our history, and welcomes a dynamic and prosperous future. We believe that preserving our history while looking to enhance our future is in everyone’s best interests.

I encourage friends and neighbors to join us in this effort to preserve the forest.
