Fred Harvey clear choice for Milton

February 27, 2024

I am writing to endorse the candidacy of Frederick “Fred” Harvey for election to Milton Town Council. Harvey is a lifelong resident and a Cape Henlopen graduate, and worked 22 years for Cape Henlopen School District. He continues to work as a part-time bus driver and is well known for driving the girls of Cape Henlopen High School to multiple victories in the state championships for both lacrosse and field hockey.

Harvey has served on town council since being appointed in April 2022. He is chair of the water committee, and helped to usher through the successful water referendum earlier this year. He is also a member of the board of appeals. He represents us well at the monthly meetings of Sussex County Association of Towns and the Delaware League of Local Governments, and at various community events.

Fred Harvey served his community long before taking on the responsibility of representing his neighbors in town government. He is a lifelong member of the Milton Fire Department, serving in the position of fire police. Many know Fred Harvey from his work on the Milton Christmas Parade, serving as the chairman of the parade committee for Station 85.

Having served as a member of town council for a year and as mayor for six years, I have served with many individuals. I have been impressed with Harvey’s calm presence and thoughtful votes taken on our behalf. I am asking my fellow residents to vote for Frederick Harvey for Milton Town Council Saturday, March 2.
