Friends from Mt. Pleasant High School gather for yearly pajama party

A group of friends from Wilmington's Mount Pleasant High School Class of 1953 gather every year for a pajama party. Originally 13 girls had met once a month at a different girl's house or at different restaurants since they graduated. After years of holding a pajama party in someone's home, they have celebrated the last 16 years at the Beacon Hotel over Father's Day weekend in Lewes.
Carol Wood Sheldon, Dorothy Gentry Donovan, Phyllis Lewis Hawk, Shirley Whaley Nolan, Barbara Noble-Moore, Carol Smith Marroni, Jean Grubb Williams-Jones, June Purcell Hecker and Janice Kusching Betty gathered this year at the Beacon Hotel where they had breakfast at Woodings Beach Deli. Over the weekend they enjoyed food from Holiday Chicken in Millsboro, Gooey Donuts in Milton, Nectar Cafe and Juice Bar in Lewes and Grotto Pizza via delivery to the Beacon with their usual ice cold Coronas with a slice of lime. They also took a trip to Paradise Grill in Pot-Nets.
