After their second spring growing and selling annual and perennial flowers, Tom and Laura Kucharik at Garden Shack Farm have decided to stick with their plan to grow and sell plants.
"It's what we know and what we love," said Tom. "This is an agricultural area with plenty of produce growers. With the abundance of wonderful producers in our area, we can't justify competing with them, nor do we want to lose our focus." Garden Shack Farm is centrally located in a booming residential area, and customer convenience has been their goal from the beginning.
In order to make getting farm-fresh produce and other locally made products as convenient as possible for their neighbors, Garden Shack Farm will be hosting a Farmers Market every Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. starting April 7, 2016 and running through November.
"We want to have everything our customers want, but we can't produce everything. This should be a good solution that will bring our growing community together. We have a lot of space with great visibility where thousands of cars pass daily," said Laura.
Garden Shack Farmers Market is seeking all types of vendors for produce, baked goods, meat, dairy, seafood, herbs, flowers and crafts, as well as entertainment, demonstrations and informational booths. Garden Shack Farmers Market encourages sales of locally grown, locally created and environmentally friendly produce and products. Interested vendors should email Laura@GardenShackFarm.com or call 302-249-8830.
Garden Shack Farm is at 19884 Beaver Dam Road in Lewes, and is currently selling mums, pansies, vegetable plants, perennials, shrubs and trees.
