September 2, 2018

G&E and Hocker's stores in Millville and Ocean View completed their annual forget-me-not sales for the month of July, raising $8,800 in sponsorship for the Rehoboth Beach Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Gokhan Kazanc, the top cashier in sales, sold 1,280 forget-me-nots, followed by Ruth Ann DeVault who sold 1,266 and Donna Lee Blanchard with 1,009.

Since 2007, the stores have raised $71,148 for the Alzheimer’s Association, and have also donated $9,600 in free advertising on their billboards. Sen. Gerald Hocker said, “It is our family of customers that makes it possible.”

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. There is no registration fee, but walkers must raise $100 to earn an event T-shirt. For more information or to register, go to www.alz.org/delval or call 800-272-3900.
