Georgetown Scarecrow Contest open for registration

Registration is open for the annual Georgetown Scarecrow Contest facilitated by the Georgetown Arts and Flowers Club.

From late September through October, the historic light poles on East Market Street are decorated with scarecrows and cornstalks by local businesses, organizations and government offices located in Georgetown’s 19947 ZIP code and surrounding areas.

Georgetown Arts and Flowers will provide a 3-by 4-foot frame for each participant to use as a scarecrow backbone. Scarecrows must be durable for all types of weather, with no edible products and nothing of value attached.

Three winners will be announced, with prizes presented in mid-November.
