Give your weed dealer a big hug

December 29, 2023

I would like to extend a deep and heartfelt thank you to all the good, upstanding, moral and law-abiding citizens of Sussex County, especially those of you in the incorporated towns. I have friends who were worried they were going to lose their jobs. Some of them have been in business more than 50 years and would really have trouble finding other employment at this point. But thanks to your undaunted fervor on the issue, these men and women may relax and know that their source of income is quite secure for any foreseeable future. Yes, I am writing on behalf of all the weed dealers in Sussex County.

Thanks to you good folk for helping them secure a brighter future. One where arrests are even more infrequent because the product they purvey is completely legal now. The police can't shake down their customers anymore and demand to know, “Where did you get it?” In fact, they have no way of even determining legal versus illegal marijuana anyway, so how is enforcement going to happen at all on any front?

On top of that, without much in the way of competition from legal dispensaries with their incredible selection of tested and certified products, I expect many of Sussex's weed dealers will actually prosper under this it's-legal-but-it's-not-legal conundrum.

So again, thank you, Sussex County, for your unwavering support of the black market. Now go and give your local weed man a big hug!
