A golden anniversary celebration in the British Isles with Cape Gazette

June 22, 2018

Andrew and Terry Palumbo celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a Viking Ocean cruise to the British Isles. It began with a 3-day pre-cruise to Edinburgh, Scotland. Prior to boarding the ship in Greenwich, England, they toured the decommissioned Royal Yacht Britannia, where they enjoyed tea and scones the Queen’s way! “Our first stop on the cruise was the Tower of London where we viewed the amazing Crown Jewels,” said Terry. Then we stopped at beautiful Cliffs of Dover and then on to Dublin, Ireland and from there to Holyhead, Wales. Next, we toured the old town of Beaumaris before heading to Liverpool, home of the Beatles! In Belfast, Northern Ireland we visited the memorial for those who were lost on the Titanic. A few more fascinating stops included the tiny water town of Ullapool, a walk along the Ring of Brodgar, Inverness and Ramnaberg where we saw the famous Shetland ponies. Finally, our amazing cruise full of history, culture and beauty ended in Bergen, Norway. We really enjoyed having the Gazette along with us for the celebration.”
