Hanwell elected to Cape school board

Incumbent Janis Hanwell was re-elected to the Cape Henlopen School District Board of Education May 11, defeating challenger Ashley Murray by a three-to-one margin of 3,108 votes for Hanwell and 1,212 for Murray. 

Hanwell will be sworn in for her five-year term at the board’s organizational meeting in July. Her term will expire June 30, 2026.
