HOB students bring stories to life with flashlight readings

December 4, 2025

Third-grade students in Tim Auman and Lauren LaGreca’s Spanish Immersion (English) classes recently brought their creativity and storytelling skills to life through their Magic Tree House Stories project. Each student wrote and illustrated their own six-chapter book inspired by the popular children’s series, crafting imaginative adventures filled with exciting plots and vivid characters.

To celebrate their hard work, students gathered for a special “flashlight reading” session, where they read their stories aloud to one another by flashlight, creating a cozy, storybook atmosphere. Adding to the fun, the teaching team dressed up as characters from the Magic Tree House series, helping to make the storytelling experience even more engaging and realistic for the young authors. The project encouraged a love of reading, writing and creative expression while building students’ confidence in public speaking and storytelling.
