Hobos executive chef to appear at Harvest Festival Sept. 26 in Millsboro

Gretchen Hanson, executive chef of Hobos Restaurant and Bar in Rehoboth, will display her plant-based cooking talents at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 during the annual Harvest Festival held at East Coast Garden Center in Millsboro.

The class will include delicious dishes created from the multitude of fall produce options at the Harvest Festival. Hanson has taken the Delaware culinary world by storm with her healthy food by cooking a diet based predominantly within a 40-mile menu. Hanson has won best healthy dining food awards from Delaware Today and Coastal Style over the last several years by creating menu choices based on inclusion of locally sourced meat, poultry and seafood options.

Hobos is an allergy-friendly restaurant with the mission of everyone being able to eat safely and sustainably at the same table. Hanson focuses on making sure that all dietary choices, restrictions, and allergies are met with love and dignity, as she often creates menu items made from scratch for the patrons of her restaurant.
