Horseshoe crab and shorebird festival attractions expand May 27

May 19, 2023

The Milton Chamber of Commerce announced new additions to this year’s Annual Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 27.

Always free to attend, this year’s festival has expanded to include two downtown locations — the original site on the lawn of the Milton Historical Society and Milton Memorial Park. The whole family can have fun and learn about the wildlife inhabitants of Southern Delaware.

Also new for 2023, a free shuttle service will be available for the event. Attendees can park in Dogfish Head Brewery Tasting Room and Kitchen’s back parking lot and take a four-minute shuttle ride to downtown Milton. Shuttle sponsors include Dogfish Head, Irish Eyes, Milton Mail Boxes and the Nitan Soni Group at Northrop Realty.

The chamber invites residents and visitors to Milton for a day of playing, shopping, learning, entertainment and dining. Attendees can expect to see educational and art tables, vendors, food trucks, entertainment, kayaking and multiple bounce houses to entertain the kids.

The Milton Lions Club will be running its Milton Clipper Express train in Memorial Park, and the Milton Historical Society’s Lydia B. Cannon Museum will be open for tours.

The festival is sponsored by Techno Goober, Linda Vista Real Estate Services, the Julie Gritton Team, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty, Bayhealth, The Holistic Coach – Debbie Balick, Children’s Beach House, Jeanine O’Donnell State Farm, Avery Hall Real Estate, Dogfish Head, Irish Eyes, the Nitan Soni Group, Milton Mail Boxes, Tidewater Physical Therapy and the Horseshoe Crab Recovery Coalition.
