Howard W. Watson Jr., hardworking man

Howard W. Watson Jr., 67, of Seaford  passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

Howard was born in Milford, son of the late Howard W. Sr. and Minnie (Jewell) Watson.

Howard loved working hard with his hands, being on the water and being outside. He worked for many years as a carpenter and roofer with Frank Tallent, and loved spending time fishing, hunting and gardening.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Watson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Deborah (Hitchens) Watson; two daughters, Wendy Steele (JR), and Danielle Hollis (Joanna); three grandchildren, Lindsay Burch (Joshua), Ashlyn Janiszewski (Mike), and Tanner Hollis; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Elaine Reynolds; special niece, Adrianna Heck; his cat Lynx; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, with a time of visitation for family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately at a later date.

The family requests everyone to wear casual attire just as Howard would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the funeral home toward Howard’s funeral expenses.
