Introductory drawing workshop to start Feb. 15

February 9, 2022

The Milton Arts Guild will offer a four-part introductory drawing workshop with local artist Joe Terrone from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 15 and 22, and March 1 and 8, in person at the MAG gallery, 107 Federal St., Milton.

The workshops are intended to give participants a foundation in drawing to use as the basis for all their artistic endeavors.

Drawing is the bedrock of much of the visual arts, but many artists lack the drawing skills that would help them make stronger images in whatever media they prefer. Students will learn the use of positive and negative space, sighting, measuring and value judgments.

Terrone is a professional, Delaware-based artist with a master of fine arts degree in painting from the Pratt Institute. The combination of Terrone’s love of abstract work and plein air painting make his landscapes the perfect vehicles of nature through color and movement. Terrone’s plein air paintings are collected throughout the country, and he has a New Jersey state certification as an art instructor.

The four-part workshop costs $170. To register and get the materials list, go to miltonartsguild.org.
