Iona M. Derrickson, Mariner’s Church member

Iona M. Derrickson, 86, of Ocean View, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017.
Iona was born in Ocean View, May 29, 1931, daughter of the late Ulysses and Manie (Tyre) Hickman. She was a member of Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church and a member of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver M. Derrickson; three sons, Oliver Duke Derrickson, Stephen Dean Derrickson and Robert T. Derrickson; a sister, Florence McCabe; and a brother, Louis Hickman. She is survived by a son, Richard Norris Derrickson of Dagsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends and family may call after noon. Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Iona's name to Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, DE 19967 or to the Millville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 35554 Atlantic Ave., Millville, DE 19967.
