It all comes down to the last game

November 26, 2022

We are two-thirds of the way through the group stage of the World Cup. The United States has tied the first two games with Wales and England. In order to advance, they have to win the last game Tuesday against Iran. They should’ve won the first game against Wales. The first half was the best half of soccer I’ve seen them play in six months. They took a 1-0 lead, but unfortunately couldn’t hold it. Against England, they were able to tie 0-0, which is a good result. In order to beat Iran, they are going to have to play a more aggressive game.

The Eagles are playing the Green Bay Packers this week on Sunday Night Football. You never know what Packers team is going to show up. In order for the Eagles to continue winning, they have to stop having all these offensive penalties, and the tight ends, who are replacing Dallas Goedert for the next four weeks, have to play better. Last week, the Eagles barely beat the Colts by the score of 17-16. In the fourth quarter, Jalen Hurts successfully ran for his life and saved the game for the Eagles, who are 9-1.

The fall high school sports seasons are over now. Congratulations to all of the Cape Henlopen teams. The field hockey team made it to the finals and unfortunately lost in overtime. The boys’ soccer team lost in the first round of the playoffs. The football team made some great progress this year and lost in the first round as well, and the volleyball team also made the playoffs. Good luck to all winter sports teams. Swimming, basketball, track, cheerleading and wrestling will all make us proud.
