Jack Lingo Realtor lax wins OC Classic Masters Division

Elite squad falls in semis
August 13, 2018

The Jack Lingo Masters lacrosse team won the Ocean City Lacrosse Classic with an 8-3 victory over a tough Dogfish Head squad Aug. 12 at the Northside Park Stadium Field.

Lingo started out hot, jumping ahead 3-0 in the first five minutes of the game. But Dogfish Head came back to tie the game at 3-3. It was all Lingo from there, as they scored the next five goals to garner an 8-3 victory. The Lingo Masters team defeated Finest Kind Yacht Mgmt./SRLC 13-1 in the semifinal game.

“The defense really came together and played well today,” said Lingo defenseman Malcom Chase. “The first time we played Dogfish Head we almost lost because of defensive lapses.”

Lingo defeated Dogfish Head 9-6 Aug. 10 in pool play.

“In the final, we came together and our slides were there,” said Chase. “I believe the defense needs to be tough to support the offense.” He also praised his team and their sponsors. “It’s great playing for the Lingo team,” he said. “The Lingos are such a great family that do a great job in the community. I love playing for this team.”

The Lingo Elite squad fell 9-2 in the semifinal to World Of Beer. They went 2-2 in the tournament.
