Jake's Wayback Burgers kicks off Fifth Annual Chowdown Showdown
Jake’s Wayback Burgers, with 50 open locations, will kick off its Fifth Annual Chowdown Showdown Burger Eating Contest at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11.
Contestants are challenged to devour the Triple Triple Burger, a nine-patty burger with nine slices of cheese, lettuce and tomatoes, in the fastest time. The winner with the fastest time at each location will win an iPad2 and will be entered in the Wayback Burgers Facebook video contest, Why Wayback is Waybetter, for a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize. Rehoboth's Jake's Wayback Burgers is at 19324 Lighthouse Plaza on Route 1 northbound next to the QVC outlet.
A short video will be taken with the winner's new iPad2, explaining why they think Wayback is Waybetter. The video will be submitted to Wayback Burgers Facebook Fan page, giving the fans a chance to vote for the Triple Triple Champ and $1,000 cash prize. Entry fee is $20 per qualifying round. Registration deadline is Aug. 5.
“The Chowdown Showdown is a tradition with our brand,” said John Eucalitto, president, Jake’s Franchising LLC. “We are extremely excited to kick off the 5th Annual Chowdown Showdown this August and host it on our Facebook Fan page, leaving our fans to decide who the winner of the cash prize is.
