John P. Brennan Jr., taxi driver, boilermaker

John Peter Brennan Jr., 53, of Milton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, after a long illness at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Oct. 14, 1960, in Jersey City, N.J., son of the late John P. Sr. and Marie E. (Bergeron) Brennan.

Mr. Brennan graduated from Scottsdale High School in Scottsdale, Ariz.; following his graduation he attended Airco Technical School. Throughout his life he worked as a taxi driver and a boilermaker.

Mr. Brennan was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and a NASCAR enthusiast, who followed three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart. He enjoyed cooking delicious meals for his family and spending time bowling with his friends. Mr. Brennan also had an artistic talent for drawing, whenever time permitted.

Mr. Brennan is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Ann F. Brennan of Milton; his adopted son, William Prettyman of Milton; his sister, Ellen A. Mead and her husband David L. of Indiana; his two brothers-in-law, Samuel G. Light of Florida and Robert J. Light and his wife Beth of Selbyville; his godson, Chris D'Intino of Newark; his two nephews, Gary L. Mead and his wife Megan of Indiana and Raven Light of Delaware; his niece, Sabrina Owens of Delaware; his grandnephew, Mannix Mead of Indiana; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
