Katelyn was a senior at Cape Henlopen High School and was looking forward to walking with the graduating class of 2022.  She belonged to the Boys & Girls Club, where she made many friends and wonderful memories.  Katelyn loved family far and wide, from Florida to upstate Pennsylvania, and treasured holidays and birthdays spent with her loved ones (gift cards were her favorite present).  Katelyn’s love of music, dancing, and concerts was only surpassed by her love for her many girlfriends and her boyfriend, Chris Purnell. Above all, she cherished time spent surrounded by those she loved most.  Katelyn was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend.  Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know her.

Katelyn was preceded in death by her grandfather, “PopPop” Mike Irwin.  She is survived by her mother, Jody Breen and her fiancé Mike Bryant; and her father, Michael Irwin; her brother, Jimmy Irwin; her grandmothers:  “Mommom” Sandra Breen and “Mommom” Lynn Peronti; her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her beloved pets: her dog, Max, her kitty, Marmalaide, and her turtle, Penny.
