Kudos to Lewes July 4 fireworks display

July 5, 2018

Hats off to the mayor and city council for capping the City of Lewes 4th of July celebrations with such a fantastic fireworks display. As we watched the fireworks, we also listened as the crowd expressed its approval to the spectacular patterns and shifting displays of colors with cheers and applause.

At a time when forces try to drive us apart as a people, it was refreshing to participate in an activity that we could all enjoy without divisiveness.

We thank all those who made the fireworks display such a success - city officials, police, municipal employees, merchants and contributors. By your efforts, you have added to the many reasons why Lewes is such a wonderful place to live. We hope that a fireworks display will now become a regular part of Lewes' celebration of our country's birthday.
