La Red welcomes two new dentists to practice

January 19, 2026

La Red Health Center has added two new dentists to its dental department, making affordable oral care more accessible to Delawareans.

La Red will assign one dentist to Milford and one to Georgetown to ensure that residents have greater access to care.

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, Delaware is designated as a dental care health professional shortage area. Its study shows that in 2023, only 5% of the state’s dental needs were being met. Delaware needs to add 97 more dentists to have that designation lifted, according to the foundation.

Morgan Kelly, DMD, will see patients at La Red’s Georgetown office. She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.

Melanie Snyder, DMD, will see patients at La Red’s office in Milford. She attended the University of Virginia and Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine.

Both dentists are accepting new patients in Milford and Georgetown. They join Dr. Christine Stinton, chief dental officer at La Red Health Center, and Dr. Patricia Flecha and the rest of the La Red dental team. La Red’s dental practice is available to all Delawareans who need care.

The addition of Kelly and Snyder should make it easier for residents in Southern Delaware to be seen by a dentist. Most Sussex County residents seeking dental care experience long wait times or have difficulty finding practices that are accepting new patients, because Delaware has a shortage of dentists.

“At La Red, we value providing service and care to all who need it,” said Rachel Hersh, La Red CEO. “The addition of Dr. Kelly and Dr. Snyder will allow more Delawareans to receive treatment for their dental needs. We are glad to be part of the care gap solution in Sussex County.”

Stinton stressed the importance of Sussex County residents receiving dental care on a regular basis.

“Oral health affects your overall health, and conditions that are left untreated or ignored can become much larger issues with serious health consequences,” Stinton said. “Serving the needs of our community is an essential part of what we do here at La Red.”

La Red Health Center serves about 15,000 patients at its offices in Georgetown, Seaford and Milford. In 2024, La Red served just under 3,000 dental patients.
