Lefty’s collects school supplies for Cape students

September 3, 2018

It’s back-to-school time for area students, and Lefty’s Alley & Eats helped provide items for them to start the year prepared. Every year, the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation holds a drive to collect school supplies for low-income and homeless students in the district.

From Aug. 6 to 20, Lefty’s assisted CHEF by collecting packaged school item donations in exchange for $1 credits on Pinguin Perks game cards. Supplies collected included pens, notebooks and colored pencils. All items will be distributed by CHEF to Cape Henlopen School District students as part of the Caravan of Caring program. “We are grateful to our patrons for providing many school supplies to help local students in need,” said Jenny Barto, Lefty’s director of operations.

CHEF is a nonprofit organization focused on providing resources for Cape students. For more information, go to www.chef-cape.org and www.iloveleftys.com or call 302-864-6000.
