Lester Sherwood Sunkett, owned flooring co.

Lester Sherwood Sunkett, 66, of Milton, died Monday, May 28, 2018. He was born Nov. 4, 1952, to the late Melvin T. Sunkett Sr. and Gladys Finney Coon.

Lester graduated from Lewes High School in 1970. After graduation, he was employed by Henlopen Floor Service as a floor technician. He later owned and operated Lester's Floor Service for 40 years. He retired in 2015.

Lester became an ordained deacon in 1987, and was one of the founding trustees of Trinity Faith Christian Center. Lester loved laughing, singing, giving advice, eating at every restaurant on the Eastern Shore, and spending time with his family.

Lester was preceded in death by sister Allene Carter and brother Melvin T. Sunkett Jr.

Cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Kathie L. Sunkett; three daughters: Leslie Palmer of Laurel, Md., Tamara Brown, Middletown, and Sheraina Sunkett, Lewes, and Tina Miller of Jacksonville, Fla., whom he loved as a daughter; three stepsons: Steven R. Sr. and Karen Miller of Jacksonville, Lamarr D. and Tamaro Thompson of Millsboro, and Ricky M. and Morgan Thompson of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters: Marie Peterson, and Margaret and Arthur Jones of Lewes; one brother: Randolph and Karen Sunkett of Lewes; nine grandsons: Jalen, Jordin, Tracy, Steven II, Lamar Jr., Mason, LaMarcus, Ricky Jr., and Elijah; three granddaughters: Nevaeh, Jaslynn and Laila; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, June 6, at 7 p.m., at Trinity Faith Christian Center, 15516 New Road, Lewes. Friends may call two hours before the service.
