Lewes-based company launches home medical equipment service
Rehoboth Beach resident Jack Berberian recently announced the formation of MedTix LLC, a home medical-equipment company. MedTix products will be available to local customers through its retail store located at 16337 Coastal Highway in Lewes, as well as online to customers nationwide through its website: medtix.com
. Home medical equipment and supplies are products used to assist people in coping with infirmities or the debilitating effects of an illness or medical disorder.
MedTix is the only home medical-equipment provider in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and surrounding communities to earn accreditation from the Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is the national accrediting organization that surveys hospitals and other healthcare organizations to ensure compliance with rigorous safety and performance standards. MedTix is also an approved Medicare provider.
Berberian, founder of MedTix LLC, said the unique combination of a brick-and-mortar retail store and a website with national reach offers customers distinct benefits. “We will be coordinating closely with physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists in this region,” he said, “and we’ll have full-time respiratory therapists on staff. Those clinicians will be a source of expertise in helping us continually evaluate which products and supplies perform the best in helping patients with their conditions.”
Berberian said the MedTix brand of service will fill what his research shows to be a substantial need in the regional market. “We perceive that a home medical-equipment company that responds to customer needs promptly and professionally, with a high level of personalized service, is something long overdue in this market.” Among the features of MedTix service offerings will be help by phone during business hours, a free comprehensive home-safety survey when equipment is delivered to the home as a rental, licensed therapists, a continuous positive airway pressure and bilevel positive airway fitting room and more.
Berberian’s background encompasses leadership roles in startup and existing web-based businesses. He was among the core group of executives from 2000 through 2005 who launched numerous services and helped raise funds for LegalZoom.com
, today the preeminent online legal services company. He was also formerly the president and CEO of Harvard Business Services Inc. where he spent the last three years building up the company and establishing an operational infrastructure.
