Lewes Christmas Parade entries due Nov. 22

The Lewes Christmas Parade, co-sponsored by the City of Lewes and the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7. The co-chairs of the parade’s organizing committee, Craig Beebe and G.W. Thompson, have announced the judges for this year’s parade: Cliff Diver, Dennis Forney, and Tom Protack. They represent two of the many organizations honorary Grand Marshal Jeffrey Fried has been affiliated with – Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Beebe Healthcare. Diver and Forney both previously served as chamber board president, and Protack is vice president of development for Beebe Medical Foundation. 

The Lewes Chamber of Commerce also coordinates Santa’s visits to his house on Second Street in front of Citizens Bank. He will be at home to visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Lewes Merchants’ Hospitality Night in the historic Lewes business district. The hospitality night is in its 33rd year, and shops and restaurants are open for extended hours (5-8 p.m.) for holiday shopping and dining. Santa will also be in his house briefly after his official arrival at the end of the Christmas parade Saturday, Dec. 7. 

Santa will be in his house from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10 and 17, and Thursday, Dec. 12 and 19; and 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 and 21, and Sunday, Dec. 22. 

The deadline to enter the Lewes Christmas parade is Friday, Nov. 22. Due to space limitations in the lineup area, entries received after that day may not be accepted. Call the Lewes Chamber office to have a form sent to interested entrants at 302-645-8073.
