The Savannah Road drawbridge in Lewes will be closed beginning midnight, Thursday, May 22, for emergency repairs to the bridge decking material.
The westbound lane will be closed on the bridge starting at midnight and will be under flagger control. Starting at 2 a.m., the bridge will be fully closed while repairs continue. The roadway is expected to be open by 5 a.m., May 22.
During the full closure motorists will utilize Freeman Highway as a detour route.
Motorists are advised to use caution and reduce their speed in work zones.
