Lewes-focused podcast hosts local writer and performer

July 18, 2025

“We in Lewes: The Podcast” features educator, writer and performer Lisa Graff in its latest episode.

“I'm having the career right now that I wanted to have when I was 23,” said Graff.

After teaching in the public school system in Maryland for almost 30 years, Graff realized her students’ interest in learning didn’t come close to matching her interest in acting and writing.

Today, Graff is known for her one-woman shows, her books for young adults and a variety of published articles. All are based on Graff’s own experiences, to which she brings a blend of humor, insight and honesty that is unique in today’s overcautious world.

Kevin McGuiness, podcast host, said, “It doesn’t matter whether the subject is marriage, alcoholism or being a parent. Lisa will make you laugh, think, even mist up, and inevitably learn. She’s still teaching, but now her audience is gladly paying for the privilege.”

Graff has written, produced and performed in several local shows, accompanied by musicians Holly Lane and John Flynn.  A three-act play is in the works. She is also active in CAMP Rehoboth and the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild.

“Every athlete, every human being has foibles, and they have strengths,” Graff said. “It’s OK to write about the things that you're struggling with because it allows the person reading to say, ‘Oh my gosh, she feels that way? Maybe it's OK for me to feel that way as well.’”

The episode is available now at at weinlewes.com and on major podcast platforms.
