Lewes Hospitality Night: Warm welcomes on a chilly December evening
Creatures may not have been stirring, but the people certainly were

This year, the start of December coincided with the kickoff to the holiday season in Lewes, as shops stayed open late Dec. 1 for the annual Merchants’ Hospitality Night.
Second Street was flooded with people filled with holiday cheer – both personally and inside tiny plastic cups – as vendors welcomed customers to browse while sipping on cider, eggnog or wine. The annual event returned last year following a COVID hiatus, and continues a tradition of making Lewes a busy night right as the days slowly become more quiet.

This town crier seemed puzzled by the camera, but knew how to point people in the direction of some hot cider. He said he fancied rum, not fancy things.
