Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary donates $2,000 to Clothing Our Kids

March 12, 2018

The Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club recently donated $2,000 to Clothing Our Kids to provide needy Sussex County children with warm winter clothing. Rotary club member George Jarvis nominated COK for a charitable donation after he and his wife Fran heard about the critical need for appropriate clothing for children in the county. On hand to receive the Rotary club check was Glenn Schuster, COK community outreach director.

Clothing Our Kids is a local, all-volunteer organization providing clothing, shoes, and coats to at-risk elementary school children throughout Sussex County without charge. Working exclusively with school nurses to identify needy children and families, COK distributed more than 12,000 clothing items to over 970 local elementary school kids in 2017.

Rotary's mission is to make the greater Lewes community a better place to live, work, go to school and raise a family through service and fundraising projects. The club meets at 5:15 p.m. every Monday for dinner at Irish Eyes in Lewes. Community-spirited individuals are invited to attend.
