Lewes woman charged after assaulting disabled woman, trespassing in West Rehoboth

February 15, 2023

A Lewes woman faces charges after police say she entered a West Rehoboth shed Feb. 14 and then hit a disabled woman with a board before arguing with the homeowner.

Police were called at 11 a.m. to a home in the 37000 block of Burton Avenue about a trespassing incident,  and the homeowner, 63, told police that Brienna Wildy, 31, had entered his shed without his permission, and she was not welcome on his property, said Sr. Cpl. Leonard DeMalto of the Delaware State Police.

While at the shed, DeMalto said, Wildy confronted a disabled woman, 57, attacking her with a wooden board, which caused her arm to swell. Wildy then continued to argue with the homeowner until police arrived, DeMalto said.

She fled on foot, he said, but police found her a short distance away and she was detained without incident. Wildy was taken to Troop 7 and charged with felony second-degree burglary, felony second-degree assault, and aggravated menacing. She was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
