December 31, 2020

Special education consultant, international speaker and bestselling author Dr. William Lane was recently invited to speak at two conferences.

The virtual 2020 World Autism Organisation Balkan International Autism Conference was held Friday, Nov. 27.

The 22nd International Conference on Autism, Intellectual Disability and Developmental Disabilities will be held Thursday and Friday, Jan. 21 and 22, in Clearwater Beach, Fla.

Lane will lead conference sessions that provide support for individuals on the autism spectrum and special education teachers.

“I am looking forward to getting back on the road and continuing to do what I can to support neurodivergent individuals on their journey to educational and employment success,” said Lane. “Successfully improving the quality of life for those with communication difficulties can provide empowerment, human dignity, individuality, and successful social interaction. As educators and employers, we must be prepared with the attitude, knowledge, preparation, skills, and techniques for this challenge.”

In his Improving Communication Skills, Improving Socialization Skills presentation, Lane teaches the ideas, skills, and techniques involved in becoming a better communicator to help enrich one’s personal and professional life.

In his second presentation, Using Humor to Reduce Educator Stress, Lane will help overwhelmed educators create an awareness of using humor as a stress reducer, evaluate the positive effects of humor, and assess various forms of stress management in the classroom and beyond.
