Local students start college

Local students accepted into College of Charleston Honors College

Two local students were accepted into the College of Charleston Honors College for the school year beginning with the fall 2021 semester. Else Leebel of Lewes plans to major in business administration. Rebecca Wood of Rehoboth Beach plans to major in marketing.

Local students among Lebanon Valley College’s largest first-year class

Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., announced its largest first-year class in history. The 487 new students surpassed the 478 new enrollees in 2019.

Aside from last year’s COVID-affected enrollment across the country, Lebanon Valley College has welcomed record classes of new enrollees in four of the past five years. Local students include: Nicole DiAmico of Lewes, a graduate of Sussex Academy who is planning to pursue a degree in athletic training; Desiree Tomswitmer of Millsboro, a graduate of Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock, Pa., who is planning to pursue a degree in physical therapy; Penn Smith of Millsboro, a graduate of Sussex Central Senior High School who is planning to pursue a degree in physics; and Emma Wilcox of Milton, a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School who is planning to pursue a degree in psychology.
