Lord Baltimore Lions receive special recognition

May 25, 2025

At its May meeting, the Lord Baltimore Lions Club received special recognition from Camp Abilities Delaware for its many years of support.

Camp Abilities board member Shawn Musgrove presented the Fred Weiner Spirit of Camp Award to President Scott Brannan and the Lord Baltimore Lions.

The educational sports camp is for children ages 5-17 who are blind or have low vision. It offers an overnight camp experience that introduces children to a variety of sports, including cross country running, orienteering, swimming, field events, golf, blind soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, beep baseball, rugby, football, volleyball and tennis. The purpose is to help the children become physically active, improve overall health and develop their self-confidence.

Guest speaker Heath Chasanov, Kent-Sussex Industries CEO, gave an overview of the opportunities made available and the work being done on behalf of the people participating in the KSI program. The Lions presented a club donation in support of the KSI camp program for 2025.
