Lotus Chiropractic to host bone health consultations Jan. 27

January 24, 2024

Susan Brady, founder of Nurtured Bones, will travel from Virginia to host bone health consultations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan.  27, at at Lotus Chiropractic, 110 Anglers Road, Suite 101, Lewes.

Brady has more than 30 years of experience in working with people who struggle with bone health. She has a master’s degree in physical therapy and a doctorate in integrative medicine, and is certified in integrative health and nutrition. Throughout her work, she has seen an increasing number of women with osteoporosis. She noticed that these women were on medication, but they still suffered from side effects and were not seeing improvement in their bone scans. She created the BONES method, which combines her experience in physical therapy, nutrition and integrative medicine to provide a truly integrative and holistic approach.

Bone health remains important throughout life. A full 90% of peak bone mass is attained in one’s early 20s, peaking at age 30 and then decreasing. There are ways to prevent bone health issues. Some of the main components are diet, exercise, avoiding inflammation, and more. It is crucial to be aware of bone health before a surprise fracture occurs.

The event will focus on the benefits of the Echolight Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry scan test. The Echolight REMS technology is an innovative way to assess bone health without using radiation. It uses an ultrasound that provides an evaluation of bone density and quality, and can check specific locations such as the hip and spine. Another feature is that the Echolight REMS provides an estimate of an individual's risk of experiencing a fracture in the next five years. The results are immediate, and patients can assess them as well.
