Lung health event questions due Nov. 13
Beebe Healthcare continues its virtual offerings with Take A Breath, a lung health empowerment event set for 4 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Beebe Oncology Services invites the public to tune in to Beebe’s Facebook page for this live event featuring Kurt Wehberg, MD, a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with Beebe Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Owen Thomas, MD, a board-certified radiation oncologist.
November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and Beebe Healthcare is working to bring awareness to the ways people can strive to improve the health of their lungs.
Cancer Screening Nurse Navigator Deb Campbell, MSN, RN, will speak about ways to be screened for lung cancer and who is most at risk. Lung cancer screening is a regular preventive health check, like a mammogram or a colonoscopy. A lung cancer screening checks individuals’ lungs while they are healthy and looks for any changes from year to year.
Wehberg, Thomas and Campbell will provide education and tips for lung health.
“Although this event is virtual, the goal is to guide you through the screening process and provide the resources needed to schedule your lung screening. We want to make it as easy as possible to take the next step in maintaining your lung health,” said Campbell.
The public is invited to submit questions to be answered during the live event. To submit questions by Friday, Nov. 13, email dcampbell@beebehealthcare.org.
To register in advance and receive a complimentary education and resource packet, go to eventbrite.com and search Beebe Healthcare.
