Hastings is very well-known in the area for her home cooking and home-baked desserts. She has catered events for local fire companies, the Seaford Historical Society, Delmarva Christian School, and the Sussex County Prayer Breakfast. She formerly catered at Wilson’s Auction in Lincoln, and will return to cook this November for carriage participants and law enforcement at the Return Day parade in Georgetown. Her staff has proven their capabilities for catering small family gatherings and large public events with attendance of 850 people.
Marilyn’s will offer an assortment of menus at affordable prices at the CHEER Community Center, but is willing to be flexible with a host’s specific food choices.
Beginning Oct. 1, the Sand Hill Café will open for lunchtime business beginning at 10 a.m. Besides the regular lunch choices of hamburgers and cold sandwiches, Marilyn’s will offer daily specials with soup, her famous homemade chicken salad and, of course, her delicious desserts. Call-in orders will be accepted. The café will be open to the public for dining pleasure. More details will be forthcoming.
