Mariner Middle student Angel Dudley pens prize-winning essay

Angel Dudley, a seventh-grade student at Mariner Middle School, won the Americanism-Patriotism National Essay Contest for the Delaware Chapter of Branch 309 Fleet Reserve Association. She was also awarded a gift card. Her essay has been passed on to the national organization.

The following students also received certificates of participation: Davonte Collins, Alessandra Broussard, Anthony Drummond, Derrius Johnson, Jeremiah Hayes, Ryan Larrimore and Lily Joyce.

The Fleet Reserve Association is a congressionally chartered, nonprofit organization that represents the interests of the sea service community before the U.S. Congress.
