Mary Ellen Collins, social services retiree
Mary Ellen Collins, 90, of Dagsboro, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015.
Ellen was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Nov. 29, 1924, daughter of the late Delbert H. and Cora (Breasure) Daisey. She was a 1942 graduate of John M. Clayton High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington.
Mrs. Collins retired from the Division of Social Services for the state of Delaware with over 40 years of service. Ellen was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dagsboro, and enjoyed playing bridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William W. Collins in 1994. She is survived by a brother, Horace Daisey and his wife Terry of Dagsboro; and several nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at noon, Friday, Jan. 23, at Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery, Iron Branch Road, Dagsboro. Susan D. Sliker will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ellen’s name to Bethel United Methodist Church, PO Box 147, Dagsboro, DE 19939, or to Dagsboro Redmen's Memorial Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, 32475 Swamp Road, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
