Mary Jane Grapperhaus, helped others with grief
Mary Jane Grapperhaus, 81, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019. She was born Wednesday, June 1, 1938, in Milford.
She was Miss Delaware in the Delmarva Beauty Pageant in 1954 before beginning her lifelong career as a stay-at-home mom and grandmother.
After losing her son in 1984, Mary worked through her grief process. She found solace in helping others to work through their grief processes.
She was preceded in death by her son: Steven Grapperhaus; and her brother: Ronald Lynch.
Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years: William C. Grapperhaus; daughter: Stacy Landers and her husband Douglas of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren: Brandon Landers of Denver, Colo. and Tyler Landers of Naples.
A Memorial Services was held at Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church in Hollywood, Fla. A graveside service was also held at Roxana Cemetery, Roxana.
