Massage therapy continuing ed set in Lewes July 14-15, 21
Involution Yoga in Lewes now offers continuing education courses for massage therapists. Local licensed massage therapist Amy Stewart will facilitate two upcoming workshops.
The Psychology of the Body and Chakra System is set for Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15. The cost is $350, and the course fulfills 16 continuing education units. Ayurvedic Facial and Indian Head Massage is set for Saturday, July 21. The cost is $175 and the course fulfills eight continuing education credits.
Stewart has been in the professional field of massage and bodywork since 2003, and has been a continuing education unit provider approved through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork since 2015. While practicing the traditional modalities of medical massage, custom therapeutic massage, healing touch and energy medicine, she expands her active massage practice through education and promoting self care. "I believe in the inherent healing wisdom of the body. The trick is to learn how to calm the mind and get out of our own way," said Stewart.
Stewart's passion is to help people deepen and enhance mindful body awareness by educating how all things experienced are processed and stored within the physical body. Life's stressors left ignored can lead to unconscious bodily defense postures causing musculoskeletal tension, chronic pain and discomfort affecting mental and emotional health as well. Her classes are designed not only to provide training in advanced massage techniques but also to incorporate intuitive somatic awareness within the practitioner and their clients.
