Mat Hastings has the experience for Del. Electric Co-op board

August 15, 2023

With a career that includes 40 years in the utility industry, and experience heading up the National Consulting Group for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Matthew Hastings is more than qualified for the at-large seat on the board of Delaware Electric Cooperative. His background and experience include management audits, strategic planning, new business opportunities, member relations and market research for co-ops from the Florida Keys to Alaska. His career advanced  him through a number of roles working for the New York Power Authority, Chesapeake Utilities/Sharp Propane, the World Bank and Edison Electric Institute.

Mat is a team player, with a good head for business and marketing. He is results-driven, detail-oriented, and has an uncanny ability to understand and work well with people at all levels. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam and has a master’s in regional planning from Penn State.

He has owned a home in Rehoboth Beach since 2002, and is a member of the Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary and the Rehoboth Beach Library Advisory Board. In addition, he volunteers his time with Coastal Concerts and various food banks. He cares about our community and wants to join the board to bring his industry, and specifically electric co-op, experience to help DEC continue to deal with the challenges and opportunities of rapid growth in our area.

Please join me in casting your vote for Mat Hastings for at-large director at Delaware Electric Cooperative. You can vote in person at the annual meeting Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Harrington Fairgrounds.
