Metropolitan Community Church of Rehoboth recently announced more news of its ongoing efforts to protect the environment by using its resources wisely and shaping a forward-looking vision.
As leaders of a faith-based organization in Delaware, church officials respect the sanctity of their surroundings and are dedicated to environmental stewardship through recycling and sustainable practices.
With generous support from church members, these leaders partnered with Clean Energy USA and conducted a feasibility study tailored to MCC’s specific needs. Thanks to support from Energize Delaware, they received a grant and used the funding to install solar panels on the church building’s roof.
The Rev. Janice Bowker, senior pastor, said of the new solar panels, “Our church and all our members remain committed to caring for the environment in every way possible, so that each ray of sunlight brings advantages to both our congregation and our neighbors. We eagerly anticipate the benefits they’ll bring to our community.”
