Milton Elementary drive nets 2,500 books for school community

March 29, 2026

Students at Milton Elementary School recently demonstrated the power of teamwork and community service through a successful book drive organized by the school’s Milton 5 Student Leadership Team.

The student leaders partnered with Ellen Didion of Chic at the Beach to collect new and gently used books for students and families. Through the generosity of the school community, the drive brought in more than 2,500 books.

Classes participated in the effort through the school’s house system. The House of Perseverance collected the largest number of books, followed by the House of Responsibility in second place.

The collected books will now be redistributed to students and families in need, and used to supplement the school’s book fair and help replenish classroom and school libraries, ensuring that more students have access to reading materials both at school and at home.

The initiative highlighted the leadership and service of Milton Elementary students while supporting literacy throughout the school community.
