Milton Farmers Market shuts down for season

Organizers say COVID-19 rules contain too many limitations
July 1, 2020

Due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 state of emergency, June 26 marked the final Milton Farmers Market of the season. The last market was a busy one with crowds filling the grounds near Dogfish Head Craft Brewery throughout the late afternoon.

“It’s clear the Milton Farmers Market cannot be profitable for us or our vendors without the sociable elements – live music, prepared food for on-site dining, and friendly mingling – that the Phase 2 guidelines for markets still prohibit. To preserve the resources we will need for future seasons, we must suspend the market for July, August, September and October,” said Patti Nicholson, president of the market’s board of directors.
